Warm and glowing, and filled with joy. That’s how I would describe this gorgeous maternity portrait session in Dallas, TX. When this couple received their finalized photos, the husband described his expectant wife as “radiant”, and I completely agree! She absolutely looks so radiant and full of love for the sweet little one she’s currently carrying.
This couple’s love for each other is evident and shines through in their photographs. They have such a joyful spirit, and I can tell that their baby boy will be completely loved and cherished.

When I arrived at this beautiful home to photograph a newborn session, I had no idea I would get to meet the most easy-going newborn ever. What a precious, good-natured boy! Baby Preston was a natural in front of the camera and didn’t seem to mind being photographed one little bit. I hope this tiny one stays super calm and oh-so-sweet for his wonderful parents always :)

Our friends Ryan and Rachel are expecting their first baby coming this fall, and we are so excited to help them welcome baby Duncan into the world! Ryan has been close friends with my husband, Shane, for many years (think way back to high school football – Hut! Hut!). And when we met Rachel a few years ago, we loved her in an instant. It’s wonderful to have friends like these two. With busy schedules and (now) growing families, it’s hard to find as much time for Ryan and Shane to get together and play video games ;) But when we do get to spend time together, it’s always a joyful time filled with great conversation and a mutual love for Christ.
About the Session: This pregnancy and gender reveal portrait session was so fun and creative! You see, when your last name is Duncan, how can you not incorporate donuts into your gender reveal?! (“Duncan Donuts” Get it?) When Ryan and Rachel found out that they were having a little girl, they decided to do all things pink. Including a pink-frosted, donut themed portrait session! We made sure to incorporate the sonogram photo and some pink balloons as well, making this session both truly creative and truly classic.
Babies are a special gift from God, so of course we love finding the most amazing ways to celebrate receiving such a gift!

The Duncans are one of the most joyful couples we know, so there’s no doubt that their baby girl will enter this world fully loved and truly celebrated. Ryan and Rachel, we are so excited to see you two become parents. And we can’t wait to meet baby Duncan!
These senior sisters radiated beauty and class during their recent portrait session at the charming outdoor shopping center, Watters Creek in Allen, Texas. It was a super windy and chilly day – especially for April in Texas! But despite the crazy wind and cold, the Sims sisters didn’t miss a beat. They just smiled their sweet and gorgeous smiles while the wind whipped around them.
Celebrating all of the hard work they’ve put into school, they shined. One graduated from Texas Woman’s University (TWU) and the other from Plano East Senior High School. As these two were rocking their portrait sessions, Mom and Dad beamed with love and pride. There’s just something special about seeing the love of a family, and it was such a pleasure to watch these two sisters cheer each other on. I’m sure they will continue to be each other’s cheerleaders for each new milestone that comes along.
Lauren and Kristin, congratulations to you both! You each took such beautiful portraits, but I can tell that your true beauty lies within. Thank you Sims Family for allowing me to capture this special time in your lives! Lauren, I wish you all the best in your nursing career. Taking these senior portraits brought me back to my time as a high school and college senior and all of the incredible things that senior year brings. Senior year is busy! (For students AND for parents!) I’m so glad you chose to document this time of life through pictures. Photos allow you to look back at memories in a special way. And that’s part of why I love taking portraits.
