The Kennett family invited me into their home to celebrate the arrival of their second son, Declan. Baby Declan was 10 days “fresh” when we took these newborn portraits. He was such a peaceful little one and slept for the majority of the portrait session.
For this Newborn & Family Lifestyle portrait session, we wanted to incorporate lots of beautiful, natural light to illuminate this sweet family and their precious newborn. The family’s master bedroom made the perfect setting with lots of big windows to let the light pour inside. One of the things that makes in-home sessions so special is having your portraits truly reflect your home and your family. And whenever you look back at your photos, they help to immortalize a special time in your life. Whether you’re welcoming a newborn baby into your home or are simply updating your family portraits, in-home sessions allow you to look back at your photos and remember Home.
Carly and Drake are such fun-loving parents; it was a joy to capture a glimpse of their family life at home. Their firstborn, Logan, is already taking an interest in his new baby brother, but I can imagine that it’s a bit of a transition going from an only child to being a big brother. But Logan is a sweetheart; he will be an awesome big brother! (Side Note: I photographed Logan’s 1st Birthday + Cake Smash portraits earlier this year. This kiddo looks adorable covered in cake and frosting! Be sure to check out a few photos from his session here.)
Kennett family, thank you so much for allowing me into your home to capture this special season of your life! Your boys are so handsome and incredibly sweet. I wish you lots of love and laughter!
